Seedling Publications is dedicated to the creation of high quality early literacy books that truly support the beginning reader. The intent is to provide a child-sized book for a child-sized task, one where success is guaranteed. We are an education-niche publisher producing quality materials that have the appeal of literature in both story and art.

Guidelines for submitting manuscripts to Seedling Publications

• Seedling Publications accepts manuscripts for beginning readers in an 8, 12, or 16 page format, including the title page. No other format is reviewed.
• Maximum word length is 150-200 words.
• Seedling Publications does not accept manuscripts in rhyme, full-length picture books, poetry books, or chapter books.
• Manuscripts must be intended for the emergent reader using natural language and supportive text.
• Although stories with patterned text will be reviewed, the manuscript must have a strong story line that is unique or that includes a twist to the ending.
• Illustrations are not necessary. However, the author may include notes concerning the illustrations.
• Response to a submission is generally 4 to 6 months.
• Manuscripts are not accepted by fax or e-mail.
